Mental health: ethical issues

Stigma can prevent people from seeking help, or realizing that help is available, and it can provoke unhelpful responses from others. Why do you think that people are so scared of mental illness? Mental Health is one of the few branches of medicine where patients can be treated without their consent. Do you think that compulsory treatment is ever ethically justified?
